US provides $400 million aid for Pakistan police training

First phase of assistance worth $9 mn has concluded with completion of training centre. In 2015, another $11 million would be provided to Pakistan.

US provides $400 million aid for Pakistan police training
PESHAWAR: The US today provided a grant of $400 million for capacity building of Pakistan's police forces.

US Assistant Secretary of State William R Brownfield, Head of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, announced this while opening an elite police training centre here.

The US assistance also includes provision of helicopters, vehicles and other equipment.

The first phase of assistance worth $9 million has concluded with the completion of the training centre. From next year, another $11 million would be provided to Pakistan, he said.
