US-Israel strikes on Iran: Tear gas fired at pro-Iranian protesters near US Embassy in Baghdad

Tear gas was used on Sunday (March 1) to disperse Pro-Iranian protesters who gathered in large numbers and attempted to enter the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad's 'Green Zone'. Holding flags and placards, the protesters, who were marching in protest against U.S. and Israel strikes on neighbouring Iran, were stopped by security forces and pushed back with tear gas as they tried to reach the highly secured diplomatic district where the U.S. Embassy is located. The United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran on Saturday (February 28), targeting its military capability. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the operation, state media reported.
