Cincinnati: US forces have struck 28 Iranian mine-laying vessels, President Donald Trump said Wednesday, as Tehran seeks to choke the vital Strait of Hormuz to oil traffic amid the Middle East war.

"We hit 28 mine ships as of this moment," Trump told reporters during a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio, a day after the US military gave a figure of 16 mine-laying boats destroyed.
