‘Unacceptable, lightweight!’: Trump rejects Khamenei’s son, seeks US role in Iran’s next leader pick
US President Donald Trump said that Washington must play a role in choosing Iran’s next leader. Trump also rejected the possibility of Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, succeeding him, calling him 'unacceptable' and a 'lightweight.' Trump said the United States would not support a leadership transition that keeps power within the Khamenei family and insisted Iran needs leadership that can bring 'harmony and peace.'
