Ukraine will impose restrictions on electricity starting from Thursday, the country's presidency said on Wednesday after Russian missile and drone strikes demolished large parts of the country's power grid.

"Today the enemy again destroyed energy generating facilities... it is necessary to minimise the use of electricity," said Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Ukrainian president's office.
