Over the last one year, since the beginning of the war, New Delhi has sent 10 tranches of humanitarian assistance, including medicines, to Kyiv.
However, New Delhi is against any pressure that is being or could be created to invite Zelenskyy to either attend the G20 summit in person or virtually, ET has learnt. The Modi government is so far non-committal on this proposal. Last year, Zelenskyy addressed the G20 Summit through a video message.
During the visit, Dzhaparova held bilateral talks with Sanjay Verma, secretary (West), MEA. The bilateral agenda included spheres such as economic, defence, humanitarian assistance, and global issues of mutual interest. She briefed secretary (West) about the prevailing situation in Ukraine. The two sides agreed to hold the next round of Foreign Office Consultations in Kyiv on a mutually convenient date, according to officials.
On the issue of Indian medical students, the Deputy FM mentioned that Ukraine will allow foreign medical students to take the Unified State Qualification Exam in their country of domicile.
