A total of seven people of Asian descent were confirmed dead yesterday after heavy rains caused massive flooding across the Northern and Eastern Emirates of the country, a top official with the UAE Ministry of Interior said.

According to the UAE Interior Ministry, 879 people have been rescued from Emirates of Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. Nearly 827 hotel rooms have been allocated by the Ministry of Community Development to accommodate 1,885 people from the three Emirates.
