What Melania Trump revealed in her book
Melania has disclosed in her new memoir that she avoids eating raw fish wherever she travels. In May 2019, during a state visit to Japan with then-President Donald Trump, Melania informed her team about her preference against raw fish. She wrote, “I made it known that I do not eat raw fish.” Despite this, she expressed an effort to embrace local cuisine whenever possible. During a formal dinner at the Imperial Palace, the menu was adjusted to accommodate her preferences. The six-course meal included turbot a la meunière sauce tomate and consommé à la royale, with no raw fish served.
Melania, dressed in a pale pink dress with silver feathers, attended the black-tie dinner alongside Donald Trump. The dinner was hosted by the Japanese emperor and empress. The couple also dined at a traditional Japanese restaurant with then Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife, Akie Abe, where the menu featured wagyu beef steak, broccoli, carrots, baked potatoes with butter, and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
