Trump says he will create 'AI Force' like Space Force, name AI czar; calls attack on AI latest 'Hoax'

US President Donald Trump on Truth Social said he is forming an "AI Force," like the Space Force of his first term, and will soon announce an AI "Czar", as he called the "destruction" of artificial intelligence the latest "Hoax" by the "Radical Left" Democrats.

Trump said he, "as President of the United States, will not stand by and let this happen".

He listed the Russia and Ukraine allegations, global warming, his two impeachments, men in women's sports and "Transgender for Everyone" among the earlier "Hoaxes" he blamed on the Democrats.

He said the attack on AI began with an attack on data centres, which he claimed had "largely failed" once people realised the benefits to their communities. He listed these as higher salaries, lower taxes and safer streets.

He said critics were now "going straight at AI", in the same way that "Global Warming" was changed to "Climate Change", which he said covers "a much larger 'territory' of doubt".

"We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows," Trump said.

He said the government would also be "looking for BAD", which he said it could do "very easily" through the existing criminal and civil justice system. The AI Force is being formed for this purpose, Trump said, adding that the Space Force had been a "tremendous SUCCESS" in his first term.

On the AI Czar, Trump said, "Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!"

He said AI is the next Industrial Revolution or Internet, but "even larger and more impactful", possibly as much as 25 per cent of US GDP. "We are leading China, and the rest of the World, and I intend to keep it that way," he said.

On Monday, Trump dismissed fears that AI could take over or destroy humanity as a "HOAX" in posts on Truth Social. He said the only "guardrails" AI needs is "a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT".

He said his administration already has "tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies", and named Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei in his posts. He also alleged a "SICK conspiracy" against AI and data centres, saying China was the only one happy about it.

Since returning to office in January 2025, Trump has backed rapid AI development and US dominance in the field. That month, he signed an executive order to "sustain and enhance America's AI dominance" and hosted the announcement of Stargate, a data centre venture of OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle worth up to $500 billion.
