Trump reopens Venezuela’s airspace after speaking to acting President Rodriguez
Venezuela's acting President Rodriguez on Jan 29 said she received a phone call from Trump announcing the lifting of restrictions on the nation's commercial airspace. She announced that US President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio informed her that airlines and investors would be able to return to Venezuela. Earlier, Speaking to his cabinet Trump announced that commercial airspace over Venezuela is expected to reopen soon. Delcy Rodriguez also signed into law a comprehensive reform of the country's main oil legislation. She also revealed that Venezuela would export its first-ever shipment of natural gas in the coming hours, with a vessel already positioned in the country. The Venezuelan National Assembly approved sweeping changes to the hydrocarbons law that expand private producer autonomy. The accelerated reform comes after 20 years of strict nationalization and asset expropriation that previously belonged to foreign companies.
