Trump hails Republican breakthrough in Guam, congratulates Tony Ada

US President Donald Trump hailed what he described as an early Republican victory in Guam, congratulating Republican candidate Tony Ada on winning the governor’s race and pointing to the result as a possible sign of things to come in the US midterm elections.

“Guam, which has always been considered strongly Democrat, just had an early call for a REPUBLICAN Victory in the top spot, Governor — Congratulations to Tony Ada!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

He also claimed that Republicans had secured a majority in Guam’s Senate and added, “Wow, hopefully that’s an indication for things to come!”
