Top US Diplomat Nisha Biswal meets Nepal Army chief
KATHMANDU: Nisha Desai Biswal, the Obama administration's point person for South and Central Asia, today met Nepalese Army Chief General Gaurav Shumsher Rana and discussed bilateral ties and mutual cooperation.

Biswal, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday to attend the 18th SAARC Summit as an observer.

During the meeting with General Rana at the Army Headquarters in Kathmandu, Biswal discussed issues of mutual cooperation between Nepal and the US, officials said.

US Ambassador to Nepal Peter W Bodde also attended the meeting.

Earlier on Tuesday, she met Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at the Prime Minister's Office.
