Toll rises to 8 dead in Philadelphia train derailment

Philadelphia rescue workers found a body in the wreckage of the train that derailed this week, bringing the death toll to eight, officials said on Thursday.

WASHINGTON: Philadelphia rescue workers found a body in the wreckage of the train that derailed this week, bringing the death toll to eight, officials said on Thursday.

"We were able to find one other passenger in the wreckage... and were able to extract that person and have them transported to the medical examiner's office," Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer said. Mayor Michael Nutter said all 243 people on the train had now been accounted for.
