'They are Traitors...': Brazil's Lula slams politicians, defends country's sovereignty in TV address
Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva defended the nation’s sovereignty in a six-minute televised address on Saturday (September 6) ahead of Independence Day, while denouncing politicians he described as "traitors" amid mounting political tensions. "They were elected to serve the Brazilian people, but they only defend their own interests," Lula said during the broadcast when referring to some Brazilian politicians. "They are traitors to the nation."
