Texas House approves Republican redrawn maps; Democrat says 'it rips apart Hispanic communities'

The Texas House has approved newly redrawn congressional maps that could provide Republicans with up to five additional winnable seats, giving them an advantage in the 2026 midterm elections. During a Texas House of Representatives hearing on Wednesday, State Rep. Erin Zwiener criticized the new GOP redistricting maps, expressing concerns that they could suppress voter participation.
