‘Stop playing selfish games!’: China fires back at Trump over Greenland remark; defends Arctic ops
China strongly urged the United States not to use other countries as a pretext to pursue its own strategic interests, after US President Donald Trump said the US needed to own Greenland to keep Russia and China out. At a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasised that 'the Arctic concerns the overall interests of the international community,' rejecting Washington’s framing of Arctic competition.
