British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will lobby U.S. President Donald Trump to accelerate a final deal to cut tariffs on British steel, the Financial Times reported on Friday.

Starmer is expected to meet Trump on Monday and will also use the meeting to press the case for building closer ties and cutting tariffs on Scotch whisky, the report said, citing British officials.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.
