‘She was part of secret payments…’: Former SPLC official arrested as DOJ unveils $4.1M fraud case

Former Southern Poverty Law Center official Heidi Beirich has been arrested as federal prosecutors unveil sweeping allegations involving millions of dollars in donor funds. Prosecutors alleged that at least $4.1 million in tax-exempt donations was secretly funneled through accounts tied to supposedly unaffiliated businesses and used to support individuals connected to violent extremist groups. The indictment also includes explosive allegations involving extremist rallies, recruitment, KKK materials and payments to sources.
