Seal international borders to deal with terrorism: Pakistan province CM

PESHAWAR: In the backdrop of recent terror attack on an army-run school here, the chief minister of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region today suggested sealing the international borders saying it was difficult for him to provide security to all the schools and prevent attacks.

Talking to the media here, Pervez Khattak said Pakistan's borders were not secure. However, he said steps were being taken to curb terrorism.

He said a new mechanism has been prepared for the security of schools.

All schools are being provided mobile phones through which the principals just by pushing a button will inform the law enforcing agencies in case of any emergency, he said.

Khattak assured that steps were being taken to check terrorism but nothing can be done overnight adding that imperative decisions were taken to counter terror at All Parties Conference whereas security of jails has also been enhanced.

Not only the provincial government but the citizens were also fed up with Afghan migrants as they have adversely affected our economy, he added.

Khattak said it was being considered to send Afghan migrants back whereas a code of law shall also be derived for their return. Pakistan has launched countrywide crackdown on the militants after Peshawar school massacre which left 150 dead, mostly children.
