Scholarship set up to honour Indian-origin health worker in US
In honour of the memory of a young Indian-origin emergency health worker, who died in the line of duty when a car slammed into an ambulance, a scholarship fund is being set up in her native town in New Jersey.

22-year-old Hinal Patel, a Spotswood Emergency Medical Technician, died in July this year when a car hit her ambulance while she was hurrying to an accident site.
The Piscataway native was working her final shift for the Spotswood EMS at the time of her death and wanted to continue her education at the Graduate School of Biomedical Science at Rutgers University, hoping to become a doctor.
The scholarship will keep Patel's memory alive and it will be awarded annually to a deserving senior at Spotswood High School every spring, tapinto.net news website said.
A local family is also pitching in for collecting donations for the scholarship.
The Kloos Family has an yearly tradition of decorating their home with lights and holiday decorations.
Area residents visiting their home donate to various causes and this year, the Kloos Family Lights will be accepting donations for Patel's scholarship fund.
