Salt Typhoon hack: FBI warns iPhone, Android users from texting one another

Don’t send texts from your iPhone to an Android one or vice versa, the FBI has warned. This comes amid the Chinese Salt Typhoon hack targeting telecom firms. iPhone-to-iPhone and Android-to-Android texting has encryption, but messages between iPhones and Android devices are not encrypted. The US Cyber Defence Agency (CISA) warned against hackers accessing call records and live phone conversations.
