‘No contact before crash’: Russian plane with 49 on board crashes near China border, wreckage found
Russian plane Antonov-24 passenger plane carrying about 40 people went missing near China border on Thursday as air traffic controllers lost contact with the pilot, local emergencies ministry said.

Ifax reported that debris of the plan is found in Eastern Amur region.

"Rescuers locate burning fuselage of missing Russian passenger plan," emergency officials told Reuters.



As per the ministry, the plane was operated by Siberia-based Angara airlines. It dropped off radar screens while approaching its destination of Tynda, a town in the Amur region bordering China.

According to preliminary data, there were 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members on board, regional governor Vasily Orlov told Reuters.

The emergencies ministry put the number of people on board somewhat lower, at around 40.

"All necessary forces and means have been deployed to search for the plane," the governor wrote on Telegram.
