Russia explores gas collaboration with US partners as Putin calls for higher supply
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia is exploring the possibility of working with partners from the United States in the gas sector and wants to increase its gas supply.

Speaking at the Eighth Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit in Moscow, Putin said, “We need to increase supply of gas.”

He said Russia is open to cooperation in the gas sector. “We are exploring the possibility of collaborating with partners from the US,” he said.

Ahead of the summit, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Putin would speak about the problems facing the gas industry, including those of a geopolitical nature, and the priorities for solving them. Ushakov said the leaders would adopt a Moscow Declaration. The document will highlight the role of member countries as reliable gas suppliers and their wish to cooperate on diversifying trade routes.
