Qatar says missile attack intercepted, threat in Doha eliminated

The Qatari government on Saturday issued a mobile phone alert warning residents of a heightened security threat in the capital, Doha, according to Reuters.

Shortly afterwards, authorities sent another message saying the immediate threat had been eliminated.

In a separate statement, Qatar’s Defence Ministry said the country’s armed forces had intercepted a missile attack.
