Putin recognizes Ukraine's rebel regions
Russia's President Vladimir Putin on Monday recognized the independence of separatist regions in eastern Ukraine and paved the way to provide the separatists with military support. Putin called said in a televised speech that the move was "long overdue" to recognize Donetsk and Luhansk.
