Citizens in UK are beginning to refuse to support sanctions against Russia due to rising prices at home and public support in UK on sanctions against Russia are reportedly dwindling. This is evident from the results of a survey by Redfield and Wilton Strategies, reported The Sunday Telegraph.

The survey found out that due to tough anti-Russian restrictions, fuel price has risen in – some Britons are not ready to pay an increased price for it. 54 per cent of UK residents surveyed said their financial situation had worsened over the past year. At the same time, two months ago, this was 42 percent.

Less than a third of respondents reported wage increases in response to inflation, while the remainder of those surveyed believe that even the increased rate is not enough to live a normal life in the face of rising prices.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that residents of the UK panicked because of the rise in price of fast food, which many office workers use as lunch. Fast food restaurant chains then attributed the rise in prices to the rise in the price of ingredients.

Last month The Guardian had reported that there will be inflationary pressure and economy will slow down in UK following economic measures against Russia. “ The shockwaves from the Russian invasion of Ukraine will cut UK living standards by £2,500 per household, lead to more persistent inflationary pressure and slow the economy to a standstill next year, economists fear,” the Guardian had reported early March.
