Speaking in Athens alongside Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Macron emphasised the need for Europe to take greater responsibility for its own security and global role. Macron also described Trump as a 'character,' noting his direct and sometimes aggressive communication style, while stressing that the underlying policy direction of prioritising US interests over European partnerships is not new.
