"I am very confident that President Solih will win the polls. The India Out campaign by the Opposition is localised and hardly enjoys support of the people. Indian leadership is fully confident and have not raised any protests with the Maldivian government," Shahid told ET during his two-day India visit.
Terming India-Maldives partnership very dynamic under the Solih government, Shahid said: "Today several sectors are covered under this partnership and even Covid could not disrupt momentum. Value of projects backed by India in Maldives stands at $2 billion. Maldives is exploring to deepen partnership with India."
India and Maldives on Tuesday concluded nine new MoUs under Phase II of the High Impact Community Development Projects Scheme.
