Powerful bomb explosion targets train in Pakistan's Quetta, killing at least 24

An explosion on a railway track in Pakistan's Quetta killed at least 24 people, news outlet Al Arabiya reported on Sunday (May 24), citing officials. More than 50 were injured in the blast, which derailed a cargo train and was followed by gunfire, Al Jazeera reported. Footage showed people walking near burnt vehicles and damaged buildings along the railway track, with ambulances arriving at the blast site. Rescuers and bystanders were seen undertaking a rescue operation from a destroyed train carriage as crowds gathered near the wreckage. Local resident Fayyaz Ahmed said the early morning blast caused total chaos, destroying many houses and leaving numerous casualties both along the track and inside the train itself. People were also seen hosing down burnt vehicles as emergency teams worked through the damaged area
