Pope Francis dies: Vatican officials seal Pope's Santa Marta residence

Seals were placed on the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican on Monday (April 21) after the death of Pope Francis. A cardinal known as the camerlengo locks and seals the pope's personal residence. In the past, this was in apartments in the Apostolic Palace but Francis lived in a small suite in the Vatican guesthouse known as Santa Marta. Pope Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, died on Monday after suffering a stroke and cardiac arrest, the Vatican said, ending an often turbulent reign in which he sought to overhaul an ancient and divided institution.
