Pakistan's Punjab Assembly adopts resolution for probe against MQM
The resolution demanded that MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other leaders should be tried for high treason if the allegations are proved against them.

The ruling PML-N and opposition Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf of Imran Khan today jointly tabled the resolution in the House demanding the federal government thoroughly investigate the BBC report about the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The resolution demanded that MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other leaders should be tried for high treason if the allegations are proved against them.
The BBC report had said the MQM had been receiving funds from the Indian government.
Citing an authoritative Pakistani source, it had said that "British authorities held formal recorded interviews with senior MQM officials who told them the party was receiving Indian funding."
However, the MQM and India have described the report as "completely baseless".
