Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to visit China tomorrow
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will embark on a visit to China tomorrow to further strengthen bilateral relations and sign a number of agreements mostly in the energy sector.

The visit will be undertaken after Chinese President cancelled a scheduled visit in September due to political unrest in Pakistan.

Sharif is set to arrive in Beijing tomorrow to take part in the November 8 neighbourhood leaders summit being organised by China ahead of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders summit starting on November 10.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said today.

She said a number of agreements and MoUs will be signed by the two countries during the visit. Most of the agreements will be in the field of energy.

She said the visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations.

After Xi Jinping cancelled the trip, Sharif said that he was expected to sign agreements worth USD 34 billion.
