Federal Minister for Shipping Anwar Junaid Chaudhry said that the Karachi Port Trust authorities are conducting an inquiry to ascertain the responsibility for the collision between MV Nevi (UAE Flag) and MV Papu (Liberia) on May 28 night.
"Initial inquiries show the collision took place due to the negligence of the ship crew. MV Nevi is already undergoing repairs at a berth at the Karachi Port as it is used for laying and maintaining under sea internet fibre lines," he said.
He said MV Papu will be anchored in the sea until the inquiry is being completed.
