Pakistan: Fresh separatist suicide attack kills at least 5; Baloch Army claims responsibility
A roadside bomb exploded near a bus carrying security forces in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province on Sunday, killing at least five officers and injuring 10 others, local police reported. The attack occurred in Naushki district, causing severe damage to a nearby bus as well. The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The incident follows a recent militant train hijacking that claimed 31 lives.

While no group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack, suspicion points to the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which recently ambushed a train, killing hostages before security forces intervened and eliminated all attackers.

Balochistan, Pakistan's largest but least populated province, has long been marred by violence. The BLA has been actively seeking independence, accusing Islamabad of discrimination — a charge the Pakistani government denies.

Sarfraz Bugti, Balochistan's chief minister, condemned the attack, underscoring the region’s ongoing security challenges.
