ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan government is working on an e-government master plan to ensure transparency and accountability, and promote digitisation in the country, a minister said today.

Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecom Anusha Rehman said the plan is aimed at providing e-services to the general public through an efficient and effective mechanism.

Addressing a workshop in the capital, she said the plan would cover all possible areas including e-learning, e-health and e-agriculture, Radio Pakistan reported.

She said the plan would help promote collaboration, digitisation and innovation in both traditional socio-economic sectors and new emerging technologies.

Rehman said the government has set a mission of accelerated digitisation to expand knowledge-based economy and spur economic growth.

To achieve this objective, technology parks will also be set up in different cities and already 45-acre of land has been acquired at Chak Shahzad in suburbs of Islamabad to establish IT park.
