'Op Kinzhal’: How FSB stopped UK-Ukraine spy plot to steal Russian warplane, full plan exposed

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) claims to have foiled a joint UK-Ukraine plot to hijack a MiG-31 fighter jet armed with a Kinzhal hypersonic missile. According to the FSB, British and Ukrainian intelligence sought to bribe a Russian pilot with $3 million and EU citizenship to defect with the aircraft. The MiG-31 was allegedly meant to be flown to a NATO base in Romania to obtain Russia’s missile technology secrets. Moscow accused investigative outlet Bellingcat of involvement in coordinating the plan. Following the alleged foiled plot, Russia reportedly launched Kinzhal missile strikes on a Ukrainian intelligence facility near Brovary.
