'No to EU talks…': Iceland rejects accession proposal; Voters back EEA ties in key referendum

Iceland has rejected a government push to reopen European Union membership talks, with voters choosing to maintain the country’s relationship through the European Economic Area. Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir said the result showed Icelanders remain comfortable with the current EEA agreement.
