Israel’s military said on Sunday (March 1) it had killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a targeted air strike on Saturday (February 28), as fighting entered its second day. "We have achieved significant successes, and many more targets lie ahead. In the opening strike of the operation, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) eliminated 40 commanders and senior officials of the Iranian regime in a single minute," Israeli military spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said in a statement released by the army.
