The seemingly metal monolith has kicked off speculation in sci-fi circles about its similarities to Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film - ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ - where a black monolith appears on Earth. In all probability, it's just a piece of modern art installed by some Banksy style artist.
