Missiles strike Ukraine's Kyiv after Russia agrees to US call to resume Ukraine peace talks
Kyiv: Missiles struck Kyiv in the early hours of Thursday, a Reuters witness said, in another attack on Ukraine's capital after a Russian evening air strike which injured six people and damaged homes, a petrol station and transport equipment.

In Russia, in the city of Lipetsk - home to a major steel plant some 400 km (250 miles) south of Moscow - a man was injured as drones hit apartment buildings and a medical facility, Governor Igor Artamonov said on the Telegram messaging app.

The strikes come as US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held talks this week with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Russia's President Vladimir Putin to mediate an end a conflict which began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
