Melania Trump denounces FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid as ‘invasion of my privacy’, calls it a ‘warning to all Americans’

Former First Lady Melania Trump called the FBI's 2022 raid at Mar-a-Lago an "invasion of her privacy." She warned it is a reminder that American freedom and rights must be respected.

In a promotional video for her upcoming memoir, Melania Trump criticized the FBI's actions. The video begins by citing the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, stating: "US Constitution Fourth Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated."

Melania Trump said, “I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America. The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings. This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected.”



Her memoir, titled "Melania," will be released on October 1.

The raid took place amid an investigation involving former President Donald Trump, who is accused of mishandling classified documents. Over 100 classified documents were recovered during the search. However, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the case in July, citing that the special counsel's appointment was unlawful. This ruling is currently under appeal.

In late 2022, Donald Trump shared that Melania felt "very violated" following the raid. He said, "They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else, and it wasn't left the way it — they found it."
