Macron tells Iran: Attacks on French interests ‘unacceptable’ after Erbil strike

French President Emmanuel Macron has warned Iran that attacks on French interests in West Asia are “unacceptable” after a drone strike near Erbil in Iraq’s Kurdistan region killed French soldier Arnaud Frion and wounded six others. The warning came during Macron’s call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian amid rising regional tensions linked to proxy groups in Iraq and Lebanon.
