'Ma’am, are you a White Supremacist?': GOP confronts Smithsonian Director for 'altering' US history

A fiery House Oversight Committee hearing erupted as Republican Representatives confronted Smithsonian National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig over exhibits, gender-related questions, and content she argued was inappropriate for children. In announcing the hearing, the Republican-led committee claimed that the “Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History is promoting a narrow, politically tendentious agenda instead of seeking to instil in visitors an appreciation for America’s unique history as a beacon of liberty, democracy, and opportunity.”
