Uzair Baloch's brother was shot in Chakiwara Road and he is critically wounded, Chakiwara police said in a statement, Dawn reported. Two passerby were also injured during the shootout in Lyari, which had gained recent prominence in India following Dhurandhar movie.

How Zubair Baloch wash shot in Lyari
Zubair Baloch was sitting outside his home in Singu Lane when suspects on a motorcycle shot Uzair Baloch's brother and fled the scene, South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza told Dawn. Zubair suffered multiple injuries, including wounds to his chest and abdomen, and was undergoing surgery. DIG Raza said one of the injured passers-by was also in a serious condition.Zubair was arrested in seven criminal cases in 2012 and he was released in January last year, the DIG added.
Zubair Baloch shot, police investigate multiple angles
The police are investigating the shootout in Lyari and is exploring multiple possibilities including gang rivalry and personal enmity.The suspects had covered their faces and they fled when a shopkeeper returned fire.
An unnamed social activist told Dawn that Zubair Baloch had joined a 'political party' some months back.
The activist also said there are rumours that some gangsters have returned from Iran and Dubai following the US-Iran war and residents are cautious of potential past gang war in Lyari. The gangsters had fled after the Karachi operations, the activist said.
