London attacks: Political parties suspend election campaign
London mayor Sadiq Khan said he is a “passionate believer in democracy” and would not want to see the election date being affected by the latest incident.

“The Conservative party will not be campaigning nationally today [Sunday]. We will review as the day goes on and as more details of the attack emerge,” a Tory party spokesperson said. The Opposition Labour Party also said that all planned campaign events for Sunday have been called off.
“The Labour Party will be suspending national campaigning until this evening, after consultations with other parties, as a mark of respect for those who have died and suf fered injury,” party leader Jeremy Corbyn said. The Scottish National Party has also called off its campaign. The suspension, however, will not include local campaigning, and local candidates will have the freedom to use their judgment.
