Leavitt’s relative to be released from ICE custody on $1,500 bond amid Trump’s immigration crackdown

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s former sister-in-law, Bruna Ferreira, will be released from ICE custody on a $1,500 bond while contesting possible deportation. Ferreira, a longtime Massachusetts resident, was arrested on November 12 while picking up her son. Her attorney emphasized she poses no danger and is not a flight risk. The DHS labeled her a “criminal illegal alien,” which her lawyer denied. Karoline Leavitt has not commented on the case, despite her history of defending strict immigration policies.
