Japanese PM Fumio Kishida axes aide over same-sex union remarks

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said immediate action would be taken against one of his secretaries whose remarks criticising same-sex relationships were "outrageous" and not government policy, public broadcaster NHK reported.

Kishida's comments on Saturday followed an interview on Friday by his aide, Masayoshi Arai, in which he said he he wouldn't "want to see" same-sex marriages or "want to live next to them."
