Israel strikes Iran’s presidential office and security council in Tehran.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday said it carried out precision strikes overnight on key leadership buildings in the heart of Tehran, targeting the Iranian presidential office and the Supreme National Security Council building.

In a statement, the IDF said, “Numerous munitions were dropped on the Presidential Office and the building of the Supreme National Security Council.”

The airstrikes, conducted under the guidance of Military Intelligence, targeted multiple structures within the Iranian leadership compound, including the gathering site of the regime’s highest security forum, the institution for training military officers, and other strategic infrastructures, the statement said.

Described as one of the most heavily guarded areas in Tehran, the compound houses the offices of Iran’s top leadership and is used to coordinate security decisions, oversee the Iranian nuclear program, and manage operations against Israel.

The IDF statement emphasised that the compound was central to operations directed by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, including managing attacks on Israel and financing the regime’s proxy networks.

“The compound served the leader of the Iranian terror regime who was eliminated, Ali Khamenei, and infrastructures used to manage attacks against the State of Israel, to direct and finance the regime's terror proxies, were stored within it,” the IDF said.

According to Israel, the strike followed extensive intelligence gathering and research by Military Intelligence, aiming to disrupt the operational continuity of the Iranian command and control systems. The IDF described the compound as “the most important and central headquarters for the Iranian terror regime,” noting that the strikes inflict significant damage to its leadership infrastructure.

This development marks a major escalation in regional tensions, with Israel targeting Tehran’s highest-level security and command facilities.
