A day earlier, the humanitarian body had said at least 555 people were killed across 131 cities in strikes it described as “Zionist-American terrorist attacks.”

The conflict has intensified since Saturday, when the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iranian officials. Explosions were reported overnight in Tehran and other cities, including Isfahan, Shiraz and Hamadan.

State-run IRNA said at least five people were killed or wounded in airstrikes in Hamadan in western Iran.

Israel’s military on Tuesday said Iran’s firepower had been “significantly limited” following joint US-Israeli attacks on missile launchers.
