Iran ceasefire remains fragile as Trump pushes for faster progress, says Vance
A tentative ceasefire involving Iran is being viewed as unstable, even as US President Donald Trump signals urgency in moving talks forward, according to remarks by US Vice President J.D. Vance. Speaking in Budapest, Vance described the pause in hostilities as “fragile,” indicating that while active conflict may have slowed, the situation remains uncertain and could deteriorate quickly.

He said Trump is “impatient to make progress” on Iran. According to Vance, Trump had directed him and the US negotiating team to “go and work in good faith” to secure a deal with Tehran.

Vance also pointed to mixed reactions within Iran to the ceasefire. “Some people within Iran responded very favourably to the truce,” he said, while adding that others were “lying about what’s been accomplished.”
